2019 brought changes and growth to both Growing Home as well as the communities we serve. Growing Home always strives to serve the changing needs of the North Denver Metro area while also thinking ahead as to how we can impact future generations by providing support to eliminate the cycle of poverty. While we are still working on achieving these lofty goals we have set for ourselves, we are pretty proud of what we accomplished in 2019. Here are some highlights:

  • Growing Home had a record number of 2,479 unduplicated families visit the Food Pantry to combat food insecurity
  • Our Parents as Teachers program served 330 children with 93% of those children demonstrating increased school readiness
  • Our Seedlings program spread to other other organizations in Colorado
  • We successfully mobilized the community to advocate for the affordable housing at St. Marks Village
  • We concluded our two-year pilot program of Collaborative Coaching, with 67% of families moving forward on their path to self-sufficiency
  • We doubled the amount raised on Colorado Gives Day due to our many generous donors
  • The governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, visited Growing Home to learn about our programs

We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store and are excited to keep our work of strengthening families, nurturing children, and connecting community going into the new year.
