Community Garden

Our community garden, “El Jardín de Fe y Esperanza” (the Garden of Faith and Hope), is run by a group of dedicated community members who are passionate about the health and unity of the South Westminster neighborhood. Together, we learn about the farming and agricultural techniques necessary to run a successful garden, while promoting leadership development and an opportunity for continuous community collaboration. Our garden is a bilingual community space where members determine what, where, and how to grow their own food. Our volunteers can take home what they harvest, and the rest is brought to Growing Home’s food pantry, where community members can shop for our locally grown, fully organic, fresh produce, free of cost. Our garden is a place where positivity exists, diversity and biodiversity are encouraged, and growth – of all kinds – is witnessed.

We are grateful to the City of Westminster, a partner in our community garden; to our many funders for their gracious contributions; and to our core of dedicated volunteers who ensure that each year is a success.

If you are interested in gardening or being part of “El Jardín de Fe y Esperanza”, we encourage you to learn more! Please contact denise@growinghome.org for more information on how to get involved, and check back here for updates during the growing season.

Help us harvest fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs for distribution throughout our community!

I used to Volunteer weekly here, when I needed help, and it was my way of repaying for my monthly visits. Very clean, quality food, and lots of services. They don’t just hand out food to families. They help get you in touch with all the right agencies. Today, my visit was to donate from my pantry. I encourage all those who have excess. Things your family decided they don’t like. It might complete an evening meal for another family.
