Housing Stability

We provide a continuum of support aimed at promoting lifelong stability, resiliency, and healthy habits for families in need.

Growing Home prevents family homelessness by stabilizing at-risk families, identifying root causes of housing instability and developing short term plans for stable and affordable housing.

  • Financial Assistance: We provide short-term financial support for rent, security deposits, mortgage payments, and utility bills to prevent homelessness and ensure housing stability. This assistance is offered based on a family’s participation, goal completion, and investment in the process.
  • Individualized Case Management: Our dedicated Family Success Team works closely with families to set goals, navigate resources, and address barriers to stability. We craft personalized plans that focus on housing and financial stability, ensuring that each family receives the support they need to thrive.
  • Goal Setting: We assist families in setting goals around housing and financial stability, tailoring these objectives to their specific needs and circumstances.
  • Resources and Systems Navigation: We provide guidance and assistance in navigating resources and systems related to housing stability, helping families access key factors that contribute to stability.

The Community We Serve

Cycle through the real stories below from families that Growing Home is now helping.

My family and I are currently homeless and living in a hotel. We have been here for 7 months or more. We are now having a hard time keeping the room paid and are facing being on the street. I have been getting the runaround on getting help and am scared and worried about the future of my family. We have tried to do it on our own, we are struggling.

I am currently about to be three months behind. I have a court summons. I have 3 children (8, 2 and 7 months). I have just filed for bankruptcy, had to pay for my school books and fix my vehicle. I am currently employed but due to my recent bankruptcy I also cannot have more than $2500 in my account and $500 cash. I do not have food stamps and did not have WIC until just this month there for had to buy formula and all other groceries. I had to also pay my grandmother for child care as she takes care of all 3 of my children. I do not want to be homeless with my children.

We need help paying rent. We are a family of 3 and we are already behind on last month’s rent, my husband just lost his job a week ago and that was our main source of income.

I am currently on FMLA from work due to the mental health needs of my children in the aftermath of an assault that is a current open case. Due to the loss in funds from being out of work, I have no money to pay my rent and I do not qualify for assistance due to the situation. I am out of options because everyone keeps telling me I can’t get rental assistance because I don’t qualify and I’m terrified I’m going to lose our home because of trying to protect my kids. one of them has already been hospitalized for suicidal ideation and needs support for the trauma endured. I am hoping this program can assist us during this tough time until I can return to work and back to financial stability.

I am a victim of domestic violence and need help with my rent. This whole change in my life and adjustments have been hard. Especially trying to budget. Please anything will help.

I am a single mom of 3 kids. I have been a single mom for the last 6 years and I am the only source of income for my household. I have been struggling this year. But recently my car broke down then was repossessed. I used my rent money to get it back as it is the only vehicle I have and need it to transport my kiddos to and from school. 4 days after I got my car back, it broke down again. I have receipts for the parts and the labor. I used my rent money and now I am 2 months behind and looking at getting evicted. I live in a mobile home and have no where to go. I was hoping that there was some resources for me as I need help urgently right now and do not know where to turn.

I need to apply for assistance with rental for paying a security deposit to prevent me from being homeless with my 18 month old son.
